WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

Presentations are something that are all too familiar at art school. Sometimes they’re informal and other times they’re extremely important, which leaves a lingering question—how do I dress? It’s important to look presentable and clean, but staying true to your style is also key. How are you going to be 100 percent confident wearing something you don’t even like?

This Fashionista’s look is perfect for such an occasion. It’s clean, sleek and has a personal touch. Any monochromatic outfit is going to look like you put more effort into the whole process than you actually did. I loved the simple turtleneck paired with the structured, origami skort. It’s understated, yet looks crisp at the same time. It’s also all about proportions. If you want to wear a shorter length shirt, then wear long pants (and vice-versa). Remember, looking classy and appropriate for a presentation is essential.

Her black ankle boots happen to be rain boots, but the shiny material adds a cool element to the look, further reminding us all to be true to ourselves and what we like. Not only did this Fashionista’s look impress me, but her overall aesthetic did, too. Her hair was perfectly slicked back into a bun, despite the crazy humidity; now that’s talent. She added a pop of color with a red lip and accented the overall look with gold accessories.

One Simple Change: Another great thing about this look is that it’s completely versatile. For instance, this look would be great for a date night. Take off the boots and put on a pair of cute heels and the look would completely change. Let your hair loose and add a clutch and you have a perfect date night look that’s both comfortable and classy.
