WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

The leaves are starting to change, the weather is getting a bit cooler here in Ohio and the apple picking is beginning; you know what that means!  Layers are breaking out and there is a need to stay warm, yet still stylish, in that brisk fall air. As college students, it’s sometimes easy to fall back into the look of jeans and sweatshirts on our way to those cool morning classes. This is exactly why it’s so refreshing to find a Fashionisto who is pulling off his own personal style (with little hometown touches) while having just the right amount of layers.

Staying cozy while still staying preppy, this Fashionisto isn’t afraid to bend the ‘fall colors’ rule, by breaking out a long sleeve, red and blue checkered button-up.  This woven cotton shirt with button-down collar and chest pocket is the perfect base layer for a fall day.  It’s warm enough to wear by itself, and also light enough to pair with a second layer.  The shirt was paired with a lightweight, sleek, yet durable black moto zip jacket.  This jacket was one of my favorite aspects of this Fashionisto’s look; the snap closures on the sleeves are a great addition, especially in the cooler months when you’re trying to keep everything as warm as possible. To finish off the look, he pairs the button-up and jacket with some light colored, khaki pants, a Mississippi themed belt, leather banded watch with a gold face and a small leather band bracelet. With the brisk fall winds coming at us, this layered yet detailed look will always be a classic.

One Simple Change: Just finished your Friday classes and headed to the venue for a country concert? Whether it’s Hunter Hayes or Chris Young, try switching out the light colored pants for a darker wash jean, and leather shoes with some good ole cowboy boots for a casual, “ready to rock” feel.
