WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Summer for most is currently in full swing, but for others, they are still at school. Whether they are taking summer classes, volunteering or doing summer work, some students are still waiting for the freedom of summer to start. With many jobs and classes, there’s a limit on what you can wear. Whether it’s due to a uniform code or that you just don’t have enough time to pull a look together for that 8:00 am science class, the week can put a lot of restrictions on what you can wear. The weekend allows for more time and freedom to express yourself through your fashion choices.

I stumbled upon this Fashionisto walking around campus the other weekend and I loved the outfit that he was wearing. It is a great summer outfit. It is casual, yet completely put together. The neutral tones of the outfit plus the light fabrics really worked together to create a great summer outfit. He broke up the lighter pieces with darker, heavier accessories. By doing this, this Fashionisto really made this ensemble more interesting and complex. He added depth and variety to a classically simple outfit.

Starting out with a classic button-down and khaki shorts, this Fashionisto paired these simple, classic pieces with brown leather accessories to create a great contrast in the ensemble. By rolling up the sleeves of his button-down shirt, he added a cool and casual flair while creating great proportions. He grounded the look with brown leather Sperry Top-siders. and finished off the look with a statement watch and mirrored aviator sunglasses to show of his fun personality. This ensemble is all about subtle choices in simple outfits that make a huge statement. Making a statement is what the weekends for anyways, and by standing out in a sea of T-shirts and basketball shorts, this Fashionisto is definitely making a statement

One Simple Change: To make this look even more bold and daring, try switching up the colors and patterns of the key pieces: the button-down and the shorts. Having a bright colored shirt and patterned shorts, or vice versa, can really make for a very fun outfit.
