WHAT TO WEAR: Transitioning a Summer Trend into the Fall

Not ready to say goodbye to summer clothes just yet?

Despite summer officially ending in September, the air still does not scream “sweater weather.” During September I spend way more time than usual picking out outfits. It is too warm for sweaters and flannels, but too late to wear white shorts and flip flops. To combat this dilemma, I try to find ways to make some of my favorite summer pieces or styles work in the fall weather. One of the hottest trends this summer was the off-the-shoulder style. However, just because summer came to a close this flattering trend is not; off-the-shoulder sweaters seem to be a fall fashion craze! While you wait for the cool fall weather so you can rock your new off-the-shoulder sweater, my featured Fashionista shows how you can transition your summer styles into the fall season.

This Fashionista is rocking a periwinkle, long sleeve, off-the shoulder dress. The long sleeves will help you stay warm during a chilly late September night, but the off-the -shoulder style keeps you cool during your walk to class in the hot sun. Meghan accessorized with this Kate Spade tote. It is the perfect size to fit your books, water and snacks when you plan on spending hours in the library. Summer does not mean it is time to put away your sunglasses either–UV rays still stay strong even when the hot summer sun does not. Meghan protects her eyes while looking trendy with these tortoise shell shades.
