STYLE GURU STYLE: Plenty Of Prints

Although I have yet to experience a runway show first hand, I continue to be inspired by staying up to date with the latest fashion trends by staying up to date with the runway shows online, catching up on some fashion blog readings and seeing all the amazing trends in magazines blossom. With spring finally here, it is the perfect time to get excited for playful patterns and colors that will bring out the brightest you this spring. This spring I am truly inspired by Nicole Miller’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear runway show.

This show truly blew me away; as Style.com says, this line truly brings out the Rio de Janeiro lifestyle through her colorful designs. This line caught my eye through her use of playful prints and color, especially since spring is all about bright colors in my eyes. This line is perfect for any college student aspiring to add more personality to their style!

To prove that putting together a runway-inspired outfit is simple, I mimicked look 26 from the design. In this look, Nicole Miller kept it straight-forward yet chic by designing a look that had sophistication and fun all in one. I used a pair of brightly printed shorts as the focus point of the outfit, just like the look from the show, and then paired it with a cream silk button-down to make the outfit seem dressier.

The more I study the world of fashion, the more I realize that putting together a runway look is easy. Mimicking fashion trends will help with the development of your wardrobe and taking risks will pay off… I promise!

Get My Look: 1. High-waisted printed shorts. 2. Cream-colored button-down. 3. Summer wedges. And don’t forget a bright lip to add personality!
