STYLE GURU STYLE: Love For Slit Skirts

Altuzarra’s 2016 spring-fall collection is a delightful show filled with lots of spotlights: warm colors, interesting textures, shiny spots, classic yet risky and strong silhouettes and last but not least, his favorite detail: slit skirts! Since Joseph Altuzarra’s debut in 2009, slit skirts have turned into his signature silhouette, and this year, at his New York Fashion Week runway show, he won’t let those slits go.

But don’t think this repetitive design will get boring! It’s the perfect way to look super femenine, sexy and glamorous, but still be comfy and classy.

I felt so inspired by Altuzarra’s love for slits that I decided to recreate it in a more casual outfit.

Two things I truly loved about this collection were the slits–obviously–and the sparks that came from some of the looks. There wasn’t an extremely shiny dress, or a huge sparkly piece that could steal all the attention from the look, it was all about the little details. Now, those looks were so beautiful, classy and elegant… how can I wear that pretty slit, and those sparkly details in an ordinary day in college?

This is what I did! I wore a denim jacket, a basic T-shirt, a black long skirt with an under-the-knee slit and the sparks were all in the shoes! I loved this outfit. I truly felt feminine, fun and classy with this casual look. Honestly I wouldn’t mind having a date night with my boyfriend wearing this; it’s very comfy, yet very cute.

Get My Look: 1. Classic denim jacket. 2. Basic T-shirt. 3. Long slitted skirt. 4 Sparkly shoes.
