STYLE GURU STYLE: Live The Olive

Bonjour Fashionista/os! Hope everyone has accustomed to their fall semester by getting those good grades and being fabulous at the same time. I’ve been studying my life away like the rest of you are, but I couldn’t help but watch live stream of the spring 2016 ready-to-wear runways shows in Paris. There were so many looks that caught my attention.

One of my favorite shows was by designer Anthony Vaccarello, who’s known for his slits in almost everything he designs. Although he had slits in most of his collection, he also had T-shirt tank dresses and added fall colors for a spring show. Due to the fact that it is the fall, I thought that this look would be such a good idea to wear to class. Olive is such a popular color to wear during the fall, and the fact that Vaccarello designed an all-olive outfit, I thought why not imitate this look by giving it more of a brisk approach.

Here, I decided to put together this olive green light jacket with a gray tank top under. The matching belt that comes with the jacket gives it more of a girly approach rather than a military one. The open long collar also gives it an autumn touch. To complement the light jacket, I thought of adding a pair of these olive green leggings to match it. If you feel that you have two different shades of olive pieces, don’t feel discourage to rock it off. Here, the jacket was a bit lighter than the leggings but once you wear the full attire, you won’t be able to tell.

The last piece I added to this look was a pair of nude pumps. They have been in style for a while and continue to be on everyone’s must-have list. Nude pumps are a go-to shoe, especially if nothing else matches your outfit. The pumps could be worn with anything, and they are closed toed, which is perfect for this lovely fall weather. Celebrities like Rihanna and Kylie Jenner like wearing them with a denim outfit, and Michelle Obama rocks them to events she attends.

If you’re not comfortable wearing the heel to class maybe because your classes are far or you simply don’t like wearing heels, you could alternate that with a nude flat. It’s a nice trendy color to wear for whatever season!
