STYLE GURU STYLE: InVEST in Something Trendy

Summer is coming to an end and fall is on its way, which means layering is a must with the chilly mornings and warm afternoons. Many designers are starting to release their newest coats, jackets and vests for the season. I personally love Tom Ford’s ready-to-wear fall 2015 collection; it has a ton of looks with layers upon layers, and it has some beautiful pattern and texture combinations.

I decided to try something new for myself by incorporating a vest into my outfit. This vest is patterned, but a little more toned down than the furry or wildly printed vests you might see being sported on the runway. This vest is structured well and the floral pattern adds extra femininity and uniqueness. Vests work great with jeans, skirts and dresses, so play around with what you pair yours with!

I played with my color and texture combinations in this outfit as well. Denim on denim has been popular lately, so I paired my denim, patterned vest with an acid washed pair of jeans. To tone down the multiple colors and patterns, I threw on a neutral tank top. I kept my accessories, shoes and makeup simple with this outfit. For my hair, I stole a trick I learned from my roommate; try using multiple hair ties to make your ponytail pop up a bit for a cute messy look, which is another common style on the runways lately!

Get My Look: 1. Patterned vest. 2. Acid-washed jeans. 3. Neutral tank top.
