STYLE GURU STYLE: Fabulous Fringe

As most of you Fashionistas know, Fashion Week, or fashion month, recently came to an end. We saw the anticipated fall 2015 ready-to-wear collections from crowd favorites like Dior, Valentino and Chanel. However, the collection that really struck me was Burberry Prorsum. They managed to convey a boho look, a classic sophisticated look and a fall look all in one collection. Most fall collections consist of dark and heavy clothing, but Burberry’s looks were lively and fun while still being fall looks. My favorite aspect of the collection was their use of fringe. Fringe is usually thought of as a summer detail, but Burberry carried it out perfectly for fall by using a lot of suede material and longer shape lines. I loved this collection and it’s easy to wear out in everyday life.

For my Burberry Prorsum-inspired look, I stuck with neutral colors. I finally got to incorporate my fringe jacket and fringe skirt that both have been sitting in my closet for months. I simply paired the suede fringe skirt with a black crop top and black ankle boots. I topped off the look with a black hat. I also added a pop of color with a red lip. This outfit was so cool to wear—I felt like a celebrity.

This fall 2015 collection inspired me to not think so closed minded about fall looks. Summer trends, like fringe, can be incorporated into fall and winter seasons and vice versa. Just as you mix styles together, try mixing seasons too.

Get My Look: 1. Black fringe skirt. 2. Brown suede fringe jacket. 3. The perfect black ankle booties.
