STYLE GURU BIO: Lindsey Damour

Hi there my fashionable friends, I am back for another semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru! Writing fashion articles during the spring and summer semesters were great and all, but fall is by far my favorite season when it comes to different fashions. Fall is the transition from shorts and T-shirts to sweaters and boots. Fall is the beginning of the fashion year as per the large “September Issue” of each fashion magazine that is published. With fall, comes change.

Speaking of change, I am officially a sophomore in college (woah, that’s crazy) at my favorite place on the planet: the University of Delaware. I’m not sure where the time went between freshman and sophomore year, but it sure went fast. I feel as though I have grown immensely, both as a writer and someone interested in the fashion industry, during these short eight months as a Style Guru. With this growth, my individual style has changed rather dramatically in about a year’s time.

Dresses are the only article of clothing I religiously wear year-round. What I love about wearing dresses is they are as much work as you are willing to put in to the outfit. As an example, if I felt like adding a little pizzaz to this dress, I would have worn a pair of tights. However, I felt like going for a simpler look with limited jewelry and a pair of boots. As my mother always likes to say, less can be more. Dresses leave me the option of whether I want to do less or more, but still give off the appearance that I am put together.

As excited I am for the new Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Starbucks, I am even more excited to tackle this semester as a Style Guru. Being a Style Guru is one of the best parts about the academic school year—and I cannot wait to take you all on this fashion-forward journey once again!
