Hello Fashionista/os! My name is Kristin Clark and I am a junior majoring in Communications at the College of Charleston. I am SO very excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I cannot wait to see what is to come! I will be going around Charleston finding the best boutiques and events that happen. I am constantly on the search for the perfect clothes, accessories and anything else that can make an outfit. Now I get to share that with all of you. I can’t wait for this semester of style to start!
Yves Saint-Laurent stated, “fashions fade, style is eternal.” He could not be more right! It is so important to remember to be on the search for unique styles rather than the latest dictation of clothing by your newest fashion magazine. Personally, I love anything classic or that will be on trend this month and not the next. A statement necklace is something I consider to be the perfect accessory…that and pearl studs. You can never go wrong with pearl stud earrings. Always remember to find your one item of style that you know can never go wrong!
The College of Charleston around 10,000 students just on campus! Charleston is quickly becoming one of trendiest cities in USA. Don’t be afraid to stand out and be unique. In our city the typical southern look (Lilly Pulitzer, white jeans and Jack Rogers) are classic and are never a bad idea, but have confidence in yourself. Stand out and don’t be afraid. I always strive to be different even if I have to take risks. This summer I am on the hunt for people/stores/events that portray how to have style and be different at the same time!
As for my style, I could wear all black with cool necklaces and shoes everyday if it wasn’t so hot down here! I love to be a bit edgy, preppy, southern and feminine at the same time. You will always see my timeless watch and two Cartier Love bracelets (I love the Kardashians and hope to be like them). As for shoes I love a good wedge or platform, but I have a pair of sandals from Mexico that I absolutely LOVE and they are tan and pressed leather –– one of kind. Also having a pocket book can add a lot to your outfit, and they are fun to have!
I cannot wait for this summer semester to get started and share my fashion finds! Fellow Cougars, if you attend a fashion event or shop at a cute boutique, I will see you there. Be on the look out for my AROUND TOWN post every Wednesday this summer!
