STYLE GURU BIO: Gwendolyn McIntosh

Hey there fashion lovers! I’m Gwendolyn, but most people call me Gwen. I was born and raised in Orange County, California and started my first year at the University of Washington this past fall. I am planning on majoring in early childhood and family studies with a minor in American Sign Language. Since I was in fifth grade I knew that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. Though I have a huge love for fashion, a career in the industry was never the right one for me.

My love for fashion grew while I was in high school. I was able to express myself through the clothes that I wore. My style is a mix of preppy and chic, along with the latest trends. My favorite wardrobe staples are good basics; classic T-shirts, anything denim, and the perfect little black dress.

I draw a lot of my inspiration from my favorite fashion bloggers and one of my favorite shows, Project Runway. The number one thing on my bucket list is to attend New York, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks. I hope to one day experience fashion’s biggest events of the year. My love for fashion continues to grow every day, especially now that I am living in the stylish, urban city of Seattle.

The outfit I am wearing in the photos above is one of my favorite combinations of basics and trends. I pair the perfect ripped blue jeans with everyone’s favorite shoe trend, booties. Booties are my go-to shoe when I want to add a little bit more to an outfit. I have always felt that I could do anything when I have on the perfect shoe. I wore a sleek white blouse and finished off the whole look with a leather jacket. To add a little sparkle to the outfit, I paired some of my favorite Kendra Scott earrings and my every day dainty necklaces.

I am excited to find more fashion inspiration this semester and evolve my personal style. I am looking forward to writing for CollegeFashionista, as well as learning a lot from all of you Fashionista/os!
