STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Plaid is Rad

It’s finally my favorite time of the year! My large knit sweaters, boots and hats are all coming out of the back of my closet, waiting to be worn. Bright summer colors are being put away, and deep colors are ready to make their comeback. While weather is the biggest factor when deciding what to wear for the day, a few people won’t let low temperatures stop them from rocking the skirt or sleeveless top.

I found this Fashionista on one of the first chilly days of the season strolling around campus. She was rocking a T-shirt dress, which can easily be taken from your summer wardrobe and pushed right into the fall. You just need to throw on some tights and a sweater and you’re ready to take on the autumn temperatures. Her red tights give her look a little something extra rather than just the normal black or nude color. Her tights allow her to pull in the red from her shawl and her jacket.

It’s that time of year, when it’s super cold in the morning, gets warmer in the afternoon and cold again in the evening. This type of weather can be a pain to dress for. This Fashionista’s jacket and shawl are interchangeable allowing her to be ready for any type of temperature throughout the day. Her boots pull her look together, keeping her feet warm, a pair she can wear all year long in any type of weather. I love that her boots have a mixture between patent leather and velvet; it gives the boots a twist from any other pair. Finally, my favorite part of her outfit is her necklaces. Not only is one a leaf, which is super appropriate for the season, but also I love wearing the rustic gold finish during the fall time.

Overall, this Fashionista’s look can be described as comfortable, stylish and she is ready to take on whatever the fall weather throws her way!
