STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Making Best of Trends

March 12th, 2015 at 2:00am

When it comes to following trends, people tend to go one way or the other. They either try it out without thought and love it, or they sit there and hate on it. But there is a smaller group of people who actually sit in the middle of the two sides. These are the people who see trends as not a way of manipulation, but as an inspiration. Instead of wearing whole trendy outfits they don’t feel comfortable in, they take a piece of everything to make themselves feel whole. And this is exactly why I chose this Fashionisto’s perfect mix of trends and timeless pieces as an outfit worthy of praise and trend appreciation.

Right now in men’s street style, you will see quite an array of trends popping up all around the world. From suit separates to single color schemes, the looks are really quite chic. But as most of you already know,  I am consistently falling for the streetwear trend that so many fashion lovers are sporting this year. The streetwear trend consists of a few main pieces: longline T-shirt or sweater, joggers, high-top sneakers and a jacket of some sort. To “accessorize” this look, most will either tie a flannel around the waist, wear a simple chain necklace or top it off with a snapback cap or beanie. This week’s Fashionisto followed the trend with layering and key pieces to the look. But he mixed it up with a light color scheme and a classic denim jacket to make it his own.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Layering will always keep the outfit interesting. Plus, if it gets chilly out you’ll have extra options!”
