STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Denim on Denim on Denim

The denim on denim trend has come a long way since its origin in western culture. The first picture that comes to mind when you think of denim on denim might be a guy wearing cowboy boots with his denim button-down and jeans—the only thing separating the sea of denim is a huge belt buckle and perhaps a cowboy hat. When you wear the denim trend, it doesn’t have to be that extreme. In fact, denim on denim has the power to actually be cute, why not try it out as a trend?

This Fashionista perfectly executed the denim on denim trend. How did she do it? First of all, she left just the right amount of space between her denim garments. Her simple white top is the perfect buffer so there’s not a denim overload. The next thing she did was keep her entire look simple. Her crème sandals and brown messenger bag complete her outfit, making the ultimate classic look. Who knew that denim on denim could be so sophisticated?

The denim on denim trend doesn’t have to stop here. It’s also cute to mix different shades of denim together. Or, you could go completely wild and wear head-to-toe denim. As long as you’re careful to avoid a Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake move at the 2001 American Music Awards, you can wear the denim on denim trend anywhere!
