STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Back in Anorak

It’s no secret the summer of 2016 is drawing to a close. Back to school ads are running rampant and ever so often the stifling late summer heat is interrupted by a cool breeze, foreshadowing of the temperatures to come. Changing leaves, new specialty Starbucks drinks, boots galore, autumn candle collections, dark lip colors, layers, layers and more layers. What’s not to love about fall?

This Fashionista is just as excited as I am about the upcoming transition. But how do you transition your sundresses and sunburnt shoulders to pumpkin spice season? Anorak jackets have been trending for many a fall season now and I don’t see them getting raked up any time soon. Seen in khaki, camo or military green as seen here, anorak jackets are easy to throw on or even drape over your shoulders if you still can’t beat the heat.

Our Fashionista paired it with a black and white T-shirt dress, lace-up flats, oh so ’90s choker and summer shades. The look is cool, simple and versatile for almost any occasion. Military green is a great way to add in the hues of fall without closely resembling a pumpkin.

Anorak jackets are also perfect for refreshing your go-to school ensembles. These classic, military-inspired silhouettes provide an easy addition to any summer outfit to begin that Indian summer switch even if the only chill you’re fighting is an over air-conditioned bio lab.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’m basically just sick of summer clothes, but I obviously can’t completely ditch them yet so I thought the jacket would be a nice way to tie fall in without completely neglecting the fact that it’s August.”
