AROUND TOWN: Clara Meyer

Becoming a designer is each fashion student’s dream. Talking about your dream is easy, but it is hard to actually do it. You need to show persistence on your work and spend time catching up on fashion trends.

Name: Clara Meyer

Role: Fashion Design Student

CollegeFashionista: Why did you choose Apparel Design and Technology as your college major?

Clara Meyer: I always knew going into a career in fashion was the only way I would love my job, so majoring in design was the natural path for me!

CF: What is the biggest difference you noticed after you studied in this major?

CM: My own personal style of drawing and designing clothes has really developed into a unique, identifiable style that reflects not only myself as a designer, but the skills I have learned.

CF: What is your favorite trend this season?

CM: I love the culotte pant style. They are perfect for spring and can be worn for any occasion. Wearing them with a great silk tank and black wedges are my favorite look.

CF: What is your dream job once you graduate?

CM: I hope to be working as a designer for a company like The Row or Helmut Lang before starting my own line in New York City someday!

Learn More: Clara had a great piece in this year’s annual spring fashion show. She is a junior right now, and next year she is going to present a senior collection at the Purdue Fashion Show. If you live around Indiana, please visit Purdue to enjoy her collection.
