ALL IN THE DETAILS: Denim x Leather

Madewell’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection showcased that great things do in fact come in pairs, when it comes to denim; whether it is denim with knits, denim with plaid, denim with shearling or denim with leather. These pairs of textures form the perfect laid back look for the ideal spring/summer outfit. When mixing with soft and supple leather with broken-in denim, the result is surprisingly lavishing.

The clear sunlit waters in the Okanagan lake reflects how beautifully blue the sky is. While looking at the dazzling sceneries and reflecting on the posts on Style.com for Denim Week…I spotted a Fashionista dressed in denim, who so happens to be a forthcoming student at Parsons The New School of Design in Manhattan, New York.

Seasons after seasons, denim and leather, the wardrobe must-have power duo prove that they are appropriate for a number of occasions. Take the occasion of this Fashionista: brunching on a Sunday afternoon with her friends. This outfit is comfy, yet stylish, which makes it ideal for a busy day planned with morning errands, brunches and movie nights.

This Fashionista wears a half denim, half vegan-leather jacket to combat the chilly winds while staying warm in her knitted long sleeve. Her black denim pants create a focal point for the marvellous jacket and also put a spot light on her white Chuck Taylors effortlessly. For accessories, this Fashionista opts for a butterfly style sunglasses and a beige cross-body bag for a minimalistic look.

How To: Taking inspiration from this Fashionista. Breathe new life into your denim jacket with real or vegan leather sleeves by layering it over a cozy top. Opt for black denim jeans for that sleek factor to show off your curves and some well-loved Converse for extra comfort. Lastly, throw on some slightly oversized shades and grab your new cross-body bag to kick around town for the up coming sunny days.
