ALL IN THE DETAILS: Bringing Boho Back

It’s official, BCBGMAXAZRIA has done wonders for us boho-lovers this year during Mercedes Benz Spring Fashion Week. The runway has not seen boho-chic since the 2010 Isabel Marant Spring/Summer collection, so this is a treat to the fashion world! For those of you who don’t know, boho chic has a vintage, ’70s, very open and free style feeling to it. Increasingly popular in the west, this month’s Fashionista truly captured every aspect of this Serena van der Woodsen’esque` fashion trend.

Here is to holding on to our last weeks of summer. Yes, school has officially started but that did not stop this Fashionista from embracing the California sunshine with this breathtaking flowy summer look with a beautiful modernized braided headband to top it all off.

This ensemble is quite versatile as in, you can wear it on a mid-day coffee date, a summer night on the beach or even to that outdoor music festival you’ve been dying to attend for months. This is what is so great and convenient about dresses such as this one.

As you can see, our Fashionista put great detail into her outfit by accessorizing. Having jewelry is a great way to spruce up a tired look but, restrain yourself from going over-board. Trust me, I know it can be hard but knowing when your dress gives off enough detail, you must not drown it out with distractions such as excessive noise surrounding it. This Fashionista simply added a thin silver bracelet that went with the ‘70s, bohemian theme with heart and peace sign charms over it. With this, my advice to you Fashionista’s is to coordinate the look out thoughtfully and dress how you feel.

Pairing a great dress and jewelry doesn’t stop this Fashionista from being fierce, as she added great detail to her feet as well. Her sandals, embraced the vintage feel as well. The chocolate brown color with the gold and brown detailing truly brought out the orange nail polish she had. The orange tone in her nails really added the color that she needed to balance out the darkness. Remember, if you are wearing dark colors, always add some type of bold pop of color, whether it be your nail polish like this Fashionista, a bright-colored purse, shoes or even as simple as a necklace. Do not fear color, it is your friend! If you work it right, it will even enhance your own features! Experimentation and risk-taking is one of the great qualities of us Fashionistas.

One Simple Change: On a night out around the town, embrace the brown hardware of the sandals by switching the silver jewelry to gold-toned jewelry. The darkness of the night really can play off in your accessories and its best to not let the two clash.
