WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

Any Game of Thrones fan knows winter is coming. The cold is coming later this year than usual, but it’s definitely time to break out your warmest winter gear. I’ve spent my winter break in upstate New York and southern Ohio, and I keep seeing guys walking around in shorts. I know I know, it was 60 degrees last week, but now it’s 30 degrees and the shorts need to go. It’s often hard to find guys in my area dressed in anything but athletic gear, so a nice sweater and jeans was a much needed break from the hoards of men in Ohio State shorts and sweatshirts.

This Fashionisto’s main eye-catching piece is his sweater. It features a vibrant pattern that stands out from his otherwise neutral outfit, and the fit is exactly right. The red and blue pattern on the sweater nicely complements his holly socks, which are perfectly festive for the holiday season. I’m always a fan of black jeans and shoes, since they’re easy to style and will forever be a timeless pair, so I love his casual jeans and dressier shoes. The neutral beige coat isn’t a style I see very often, but it’s an easy way to brighten up any winter look. The coat is made of a semi-waterproof material, which is perfect for those winter flurries.

As for accessories, the Fashionisto opted for a simple black watch and simple silver rings. The silver rings match the silver face of the watch, and are both a simple way to add a little something extra to your outfit.

Dressing for winter can become a tiring chore towards the middle of January, when it seems like the cold dark days will never end. Wearing simple colors with one single patterned item is an easy way to spruce up your winter wardrobe, so be sure to take a note from this Fashionisto’s outfit.

One Simple Change: Once the snow melts and the temperatures rise, you can switch out the sweater for a graphic T-shirt to create the perfect spring look. Or, opt for a button-down shirt for a dressier spring look.
