WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Weekends are my favorite part of the week. After a busy and stressful week, I love to use my weekends to rest, but to also hang out and explore different things around me. When I’m not spending my weekends laying in my pajamas and watching Netflix, I like to dress comfortably and discover what’s going on in my city. Also, it doesn’t hurt that I’m close to New York City. There are numerous things going on in New York City such as food festivals, silent clubbing and movies in several parks. When I’m going on an adventure or going to one of these many events, I usually wear something to keep me cool, comfortable and cute. Everyone has their “uniform,” or typical outfit that they wear. Mine would be a pair of high-waisted shorts, crop top, flannel shirt and high-top Converse All-Stars.

While I was out exploring my city this weekend, I saw this Fashionista. Her vibrant pink hair and checkered dress caught my eye. Her outfit was a mix of feminine and grunge. The choker, silver shoes and septum piercing gave the outfit a great edge. Even her tote bag, which had a galactic theme going on, made her look that much grungier. Her outfit was not only sweet and simple, but it looked comfortable. It made me think about changing up my “uniform” to an outfit similar to hers. I don’t think I’d be able to pull off the vibrant pink hair, but everything else would be a go.

One Simple Change: If you want to make this look also work for the cooler months, just add a knit cardigan, bowler hat and some Dr. Martens. Now you have your weekend “uniform” for autumn.
