WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

June has arrived, ladies and gents! For the college world, that means we’ve already begun reuniting with friends and family from home, either by grilling some steaks out back or checking off the list of graduation parties to go to! Either way, seeing familiar faces and old pals is super exciting. Refreshing your friends and family with your personal tastes through your style choices only makes sense! Late May to early June is not only the window for kicking off the summer fashionably, but to show your peers and social sphere how your style has perhaps changed and what tastes you’ve acquired throughout the semester. This Fashionista is more than ready to sail into summer with a vibrant boho-patterned dress.

Mixing in bohemian vibes with a casual tone is just what this Fashionista is perfecting in this look. Prints and patterns are always a chic way of welcoming the new season. I could collect a variety of prints and patterns of all kinds for spring and summer and never get tired of them. A patterned summer dress is reliable for a “I am here!” statement while also having free leg movement for a hot day. I also find that prints are great for drawing the eye to the clothing and away from maybe the tan you haven’t developed yet!

My favorite thing about this look is the effortless and natural feel it has. From her beach-waved hair, accessorized with a colorful headband, and down to her oiled-leather Birkenstock sandals, she is a combination of casual and stylish. The midi length of this dress and detailed back cut outs give this look a fashion forward hint while still being flirty and playful.

One Simple Change: If you take your day plans into a girl’s night out, remove the headband and swap the sandals for a cute pair of open toe wedge heels.
