WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

April 8th, 2015 at 2:10am

Sometimes all you want to do on the weekend is kick back in some sweats. With school getting you down Monday through Friday, it can be hard to find the motivation to put cute outfits together, so have fun with your wardrobe over the weekend! As I have written on here many times before, style does not mean you have to sacrifice comfort. This week’s Fashionista proves that you can look put together while being comfortable. It’s is a laid back yet effortlessly stylish look that is perfect for the weekend.

This Fashionista is wearing a pair of black jeans, which are great because they are a dressier alternative to leggings but are still casual. A way to add interest to your look is to incorporate color. Her red-orange long sleeve top brings a pop of color and does a great job bringing life into the outfit. The lace detail on the top adds more texture and a subtle touch of femininity to the look. The slouchiness keeps it laid back, which is ideal for relaxing over the weekend.

This Fashionista is finishing her look off with some simple jewelry and a pair of black leather boots. Boots are a great choice of footwear for a weekend look because they are extremely practical since they are weather resistant, yet they are incredibly stylish at the same time.

The weekend is a great time to relax and catch up with friends, but the reality for most college students is that we spend the majority of time doing homework and studying. It’s good to know how to look put together that is still comfortable for running errands and spending long hours in the library in an effortless way. Follow this Fashionista’s example, and by mixing textures, adding a pop of color and sticking with comfortable pieces, you’ve got a fabulous look to wear over the weekend.

One Simple Change: Do you love this look but want to make it wearable for warmer weather? It’s an easy fix! Switch out the long sleeve for a slouchy T-shirt and the boots for a pair of strappy sandals. You’re all set to go enjoy your weekend in the lovely spring weather.
