Throughout the week, I feel like I’m always saying, “I’ll get that done this weekend,” and when Saturday rolls around I have a full plate of places to go, people to see and things to do. Though it may not be the relaxing weekend I had wanted, it still feels incredible to cross things off of my to-do list and start the next week with a clean slate. On these productive weekends, whether I’m in meetings, running errands or hitting the library, it’s important for me to be dressed for an active day. However, since no one wants all work and no play, weekend wear should still be fun. Wearing comfortable clothing with a statement piece, eye-catching jewelry or experimental makeup is a perfect outfit for a weekend on the go.
This Fashionista’s outfit is an amazing example of how to mix functionality with creative personal style. Her casual outfit of a T-shirt, sweatpants and athletic shoes is simplistic, but the fact that she kept it all-black and opted for a crop top and stylized sweatpants makes this look on-trend with the “athleisure” style.
This Fashionista added touches of her personal aesthetic with her accessories and makeup. Her hoop earrings and sunglasses are great statement accessories to immediately make a casual outfit stand out. Her makeup also makes this functional look very fashion-forward and exudes personal style. Her vampy red lip and thick eyeliner (not to mention her chic septum piercing), bring the entire look together. Who said you can’t make sweatpants look sharp?
One Simple Change: If it’s not quite T-shirt weather where you live yet, make this look work for winter climates by wearing a cropped sweatshirt on top.
