WHAT TO WEAR: Vacation

Vacation is defined as an extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or in traveling. It is also defined as the action of leaving something one previously occupied. Vacation, as defined by the collegiate nation, is summertime. Summer is the season to take a break from the books, deadlines and even our friends. Going on vacation is our escape. Many of us dream of the perfect tropical getaway, one filled with romantic evenings on the arm of that cute local boy you met the first night, and indulging in sweet fruity drinks all night long. But, we all know that is not how family vacations ever play out. Unfortunately, you will most likely be stuck participating in every awkward family adventure that was preplanned by your parents. That does not mean, however, you can’t look good while doing it.

This week a certain Fashionisto caught my eye, wearing an ensemble perfect for a vacation escape. Ironically enough, this young man had just returned from a cruise to Bermuda and had worn this exact outfit during a dinner night with his family. Now gentleman, take note here. This get-up combines just the right amount of class and maturity with sexiness and style. His white and blue oxford button-down highlights his bronze skin quite well. The dark pants make it seem like he just casually threw on a pair of good jeans, but when getting a closer look, one realizes they are actually a fantastic pair of navy blue linen-blend slacks from H&M. His feet are adorned with a classic pair of chestnut colored boat shoes tying the entire look together. Lastly he accessorizes with a slick black watch from Movement.

So as you’re planning for your next tropical getaway, make sure you are planning your outfits as well. No matter where you go in the world, it is important that you give off the best impression of yourself, even if your father is making that embarrassing potty joke for the umpteenth million time.

One Simple Change: To go from vacation-chic to casual weekend wear, switch the pants for a chino short and add a fedora for extra flair!
