WHAT TO WEAR: Sunshine and Sophistication

Even in March winter can still pack a punch in Utah. However, on this day nothing but blue skies and sunshine were in sight. For this California native Fashionista the day also had special meaning because it was her birthday! Between the sun and the celebration, she decided the day called for a little extra primping.

Rompers are fresh, fun, and a “must have” in any Fashionista’s wardrobe. A romper can be worn completely casual, or transformed into an entirely different look for a special occasion with the right hair, shoes, accessories and makeup.

The chic black romper this Fashionista chose to wear is naturally a little more sophisticated with the ruffle sleeves and peek-a-boo cutout. She dressed it up even more while still maintaining that spring, warm weather vibe with cream colored wedges. These shoes were just the right touch, giving this Fashionista a look that would work from campus to birthday celebration. The cool cream tone of these fabulous wedge shoes also brought out her golden hair color, adding contrast and balance to the dark romper and overall outfit.

She then added a black choker with a gold piece, which tied in perfectly with the gold tassels hanging from the ties on her romper. The fun peek-a-boo cutout in this versatile romper gave it a sexy element, without being overly revealing.

Since it was her birthday, she decided to put in more effort than usual and curl her hair—giving it additional body and volume, which complemented this sexy yet playful look. The bold pink lip color she chose was striking against the black romper, and added to the soft, girly feel of her beautifully curled hair. Finally, the various shades of gold she applied using Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Palette produced sultry, smoky eyes added sophistication to her entire look.

Lesson learned: when you get a warm day in the middle of March in Utah, bring out some of your classic spring and summer pieces, get inspired, and have fun with your sophisticated, sexy side. And if it just so happens to also be your birthday, let nothing but blue skies and sunshine be the limit to your creativity.
