WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

With the scorching heat here in the south, it can be difficult to dress fashionably while staying cool and comfortable. This seems to get even harder for men, especially with the limited clothing options that they seem to have. One great way to stay trendy during the summer months, without burning up with layering, is by mixing some fun, bright prints.

This summer, this Fashionisto is utilizing all the top preppy staples. First and foremost: the Vineyard Vines oxford. This shirt is so great for this time of year because it is made from 100 percent cotton which makes the shirt extremely breathable, and the brightly colored gingham adds dimension to an otherwise traditional garment. My favorite pieces of the outfit are the Daniel Wellington Classic Bristol Rose Gold 40mm watch and his Cole Haan Grant Drivers. Combined, these two pieces really pull together the outfit by creating a cohesive leather blend between the belt, the drivers and the watch. Another plus to these two pieces is that they can be used for a more casual look, as displayed here, or worn for a more formal attire.

One Simple Change: One great way to take this look from a casual summer day to a more formal meet the parents dinner is to just swap the shorts for a nice full-length pant in a breathable material. Much like this Fashionisto utilized, a great way to add even more flavor to your outfit is by choosing a pant with a non-traditional color that can still tie in with your current color palette. My personal favorite are chinos from Bonobos. For the winter months, this look can be defined even further by pairing the drivers with some printed socks.
