WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

April 6th, 2016 at 2:10am

April showers seems to be an appropriate saying for this spring season. The constant fluctuation of weather from boiling hot, to sweater weather and then to slight drizzle can be confusing, especially when it comes to clothing. Dressing during this transitional season can be tricky, but this Fashionista has really hit the nail on the head.

On a gloomy day with obvious impending rainfall, everybody on my campus seemed to have chosen the popular college go-to look of athletic shorts and an oversized T-shirt. That is why this Fashionista’s outfit caught my eye. Even with horrible weather, she managed to create a comfortable and adorable look suitable for the confusing spring conditions.

Her navy Ralph Lauren pullover had the perfect balance of comfortable and stylish. The sweatshirt’s zipper detail on the shoulder gave the basic top some interest and edge. By pairing a sweatshirt with some super short denim cut-offs, she was prepared for any temperature spring threw her way. My favorite part of her look was her jewelry. I love that her Kendra Scott necklace and bracelet were a different shade of blue than her sweatshirt. It caused a nice contrast from her top and her accessories. She stacked her “hope” bracelet with a simple Lokai bracelet which I thought looked so cute—I’m obsessed! Lastly, her pink Converse All-Stars were a pretty pop of pink to her very blue based ensemble. I think Converse All-Stars should be a staple in everyone’s closet. They are classic, go with anything and look super cool. They are especially perfect for rainy weather because once the shoes get dirty, just throw them in the wash!

Choosing adorable transitional pieces for spring, this Fashionista is ready to face anything rain or shine.

One Simple Change: If cold weather sneaks up on you this spring, easily switch up the denim shorts for trendy joggers; they’re the ultimate alternative to pajama pants. Joggers feel just as comfortable but make you look slightly more put together.
