WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

With 19 days left of the semester and temperatures that read more like mid-summer than early spring, finding an outfit that’s conducive for library cram days and the annoyingly blistering heat is near impossible. Studying all day calls for comfy clothes, spring weather calls for florals and colorful clothes and heat calls for tank tops and denim shorts. As Fashionista/os, we know that it’s often hard to find an outfit that combines all three of those attributes, so we often have to make the decision on whether we want to be comfy, seasonally-stylish or weather appropriate. Trust me, it’s not an easy feat to accomplish. I normally just throw on a dress hanging in my closet, pair it with some sandals and call it a day. That method works the majority of the time, and it may be a bit lazy, but it’s still a success!

While studying outside on an extra warm afternoon, this Fashionista’s bright and stylish outfit caught my eye. Not only is her outfit perfect for the infamous Florida heat, but it’s comfortable and cute. I’ve always loved wearing crochet tops because they’re always more interesting than a basic top, but they’re just as comfortable and easy to mix and match. This Fashionista’s crochet top pushes it even further by showcasing its own unique cut and pattern. Pairing her top with blue shorts and shoes ties the look together with the pop of color needed to give the outfit that much-needed spring influence. Her orange-tinted sunglasses are a perfect added bonus to the outfit. They’re trendy, sleek and totally practical for studying outdoors.

One Simple Change: Want to celebrate the fact that it’s no longer freezing outside with a night out in downtown? Spring in Florida means blistering heat during the day and some chilly temperates at night. To keep warm in the slightly lower temperatures, add a chic dark tan jacket over the crochet top. Simply trade out the sneakers for a pair of tan wedges to make it more nighttime appropriate.
