WHAT TO WEAR: Rainy Day Blues

Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I know it can be hard to get out of bed for class on a rainy day, especially when all you want to do is cuddle up in bed with a good book and a cup of tea. But, today I’m talking about what to wear to beat those rainy day blues, and look cute while doing it.

Rainy days usually mean a functional wardrobe. This Fashionista decided on a long sleeve floral blouse. It’s warm, yet light enough to easily layer with a sweater or rain jacket when necessary. You really cannot go wrong with feminine florals. Pair this shirt with a classic pair of jeans so that you will be comfortable for a long day of classes. Wear simple shoes, like flats, to easily navigate from class to class. Flats help make this look a bit more girly, as do the beaded bracelets this Fashionista is wearing. This Fashionista knows that humidity is the enemy, so she opted for a high pony to avoid any hair disasters. Next time you try this look, use frizz and static control spray to perfect your high ponytail. You’ll leave everyone wondering how you managed to look so good on such a dreary day. Wear dangling earrings to help frame your face while your hair is tied up.

Pro tip: If florals aren’t your thing or you are going for an edgier look, try combat boots or sneakers instead of flats, and replace the floral top with your favorite band T-shirt and flannel.
