WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

Every time it nears the end of the semester, I see so many students dressed in suits, skirts and ties. While I love any excuse to dress up, formal presentation attire isn’t very creative or interesting. Normally, professional attire is very smart and tailored, but the other day I ran into this Fashionista who proved to me that not always does your presentation outfit need to be drab and boring.

I spotted this Fashionista on Pedestrian Walkway. I initially took notice of her flowing maxi dress and fell in love with how this Fashionista paired it with basic, casual accessories. Her maxi dress, in a black and lace fabric, looked elegant when the warm gusts of East Tennessee air hit Rocky Top. Additionally, her brown and natural accessories gave her look a pretty and bohemian vibe. With this combination of natural and glam styles, this Fashionista provided me with the best inspiration for future presentations.

There’s nothing I dread more than having to speak in front of hundred people. But thanks to this Fashionista and her pretty boho style, I’ve actually had a change of heart. Instead of just throwing on one of mom’s old work blazers or putting on a pair of ill-fitted trousers, I’m going to break into my new spring/summer attire.

One Simple Change: To make this look suitable for a more professional environment like an internship, switch out the sandals for a chic pair of flats and throw on a cute cardigan to cover your shoulders.
