Your choice of clothing is the definite make it or break it; it will set the stage for what they’ll think of you from first glance.

This Fashionisto says that to make a good first impression you’ll want to “Use the three C’s: contemporary, casual and conservative.” You’ll want to wear something that will insure trust in her parents that you were the right pick; something not too dressy, yet tasteful and comfortable. He achieves this look by simply balancing together neutrals and classics.

To avoid looking too formal, he went with dark wash denim jeans instead of khakis perfectly pairing the denim on denim visage. The short-sleeve denim has classic fit and chest pockets. Although the button-up already had short sleeves, he went ahead and folded them another two times giving him a more laid back look. He accessorized with New WayFarer Classic Ray-Bans, Authentic Original 2-Eyed Boat Shoes, and a brown belt. He looked casual yet sophisticated.

One Simple Change: Spending the day on the town instead of going over for dinner? Dress down by swapping out the dark wash denim jeans with khaki shorts and the boat shoes with some flip flops—a very simple, youthful, and nautical look that every parent will appreciate. Always make sure you’re dressing appropriately for the occasion and letting your personality show!
