WHAT TO WEAR: Interview

This article is dedicated to my aspiring Fashionistos that are applying for internships or jobs. This Fashionisto’s outfit is perfect to wear for an interview and here’s why:

A blazer is classic and pretty common to wear in business casual or business formal environments. The style of this blazer is very clean cut and well tailored. I also love the bright red tie that this Fashionisto chose to wear. I like how it makes the outfit pop, but the tie is not too flashy, and the pattern is very simple. When dressing for an interview, it’s important to keep in mind that ties are great, but you should avoid wearing “novelty” ties with bizarre prints.

This Fashionisto chose to wear slim-fit, blue pants that are cuffed at the bottom. When going to an interview, pairing neutral colors together and having one color that pops in the outfit helps it look business appropriate and helps show off your personal style. I like how this Fashionisto added a watch to his look as well, because when you show up to an interview it is heavily important that you show up on time. So it is a really smart idea to accessorize your outfit with a watch—that way you’ll be on time for your interview!

I also like the shoes this Fashionisto chose to wear. They’re very professional, and I think that they help give the outfit a nice, classic look. Usually on campus, I don’t see many of the guys on campus wearing shoes like these, so I thought they were very unique.

In addition, this outfit could also be worn on a night out when you celebrate you getting the job! Take away the blazer, button-down, and tie and replace them with a simple button-down, short-sleeved top. You can also add a belt, tuck the top in, and cuff the pants up a bit more. You could wear the same pair of shoes or add a pair of boat shoes or oxfords to make the outfit more casual.

Happy job hunting!
