WHAT TO WEAR: Finals

July 28th, 2015 at 2:00am

When that dreaded time of long hours at the library and countless cups of coffee come into play, there is only one thing on everyone’s mind for when they decide what to wear for the day: comfort. Comfort, comfort, comfort—I can’t say this enough. When you’re holed up at a cubicle cramming for your film theory final exam, trust me when I say that no one is looking at you, just as you are not looking at anyone else. Don’t take this the wrong way: it isn’t personal. I mean, how can you be distracted by someone else’s ensemble when you have a zillion things on your to-do list? Including that load of laundry that’s been sitting in your room for over three weeks now… yikes. The answer is, you can’t. The reason for this is that everyone during finals week is way too busy worrying about their own schedule and making notes that no one has time to look you up and down for an outfit approval checkmark. I promise you, the only check we’re watching out for is the one on our final exams.

This Fashionisto is doing it right. When it all gets down to the nitty gritty of buckling in for a long week of studying, make sure to wear the comfiest and coziest clothes you have. Not only will you thank yourself later, again, no one is looking at you. So, have no fear of the cursed side-eye glances. They don’t exist during finals week.

Grab a graphic T-shirt and a pair of your most worn in cargo shorts. As for shoes, keep it simple and keep it decent. If people are too busy with their nose in their textbooks, you can be darn sure that they are not looking at your feet. These unconcerned sneakers will provide you all the comfort you need to highlight your life away.

Caution: this laid back look is only fit for a laid back person. Proceed carefully for an outfit that proves to the world that you take your education seriously.

One Simple Change: If you’re going out with your girlfriend for a break from all the studying, switch out your graphic T-shirt with a black V-neck, and throw on a pair of jeans instead. This way, you’ll remain cozy while looking a little cuter for your better half.
