WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

As the summer drives into full gear, the days seem to become busier and busier. With long days but fun-filled nights, I used to struggle figuring out how to do a billion things in one day and somehow still be dressed appropriately for all occasions of the day. A typical Saturday usually starts brunch with the girls, followed by running errands. Before you know it, it’s time to go out on the town.

I think summer is the perfect time to take advantage of versatile outfits that work for every occasion, because they are so easy to create with summer clothes. My favorite example would be a sundress or an easy skirt, because you can simply throw a flannel around your waist if you’re looking to be more casual or throw on some wedges and a sun hat if you want to dress it up. Living in Iowa, most summer days are unbearably hot or humid, so a dress or a skirt is the best way to stay comfortable and cool as well.

This Fashionista’s outfit is the best example. To start, she went with a simple but totally trendy denim skirt, which is great for the day because it’s comfortable and breathable. But it’s also fashionable for the night too. She paired the skirt with an elegant tank top which is effortless yet so adorable. However, my attention is totally focused on this Fashionista’s sun hat. It adds so much to this outfit for a daytime look, but is easy to take off during the night.

She accessorized with a layered necklace and a gold bracelet which once again, work perfectly for the day and the night. The shoes are appropriate for a transitioning outfit because they have a two inch wedge which makes them comfortable and easy for the day, yet dressed up just enough for the night.

One Simple Change: Going out for a date night after a long day? Switch out the blue denim for a black denim button up skirt and black wedges for an even more dressed up look!
