WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

As college students, we always think we will have enough free time during the summer to do all of the fun things that summer entails. All semester we dream about lying by the pool with a new book or good friends. It’s what gets us through finals week. We like to think that once finals are over we won’t have a single worry in the world because college summers are supposed to be exciting and carefree…right? Well, that viewpoint is both right and wrong for most of us.

Yes, you will have some of the best times of your life in college, so of course you are expected to have an immense amount of fun during the summer, but no, all of your responsibilities don’t just disappear after the semester comes to an end. Summer classes, jobs, internships and volunteer work are just a few important things that will eat up a lot of your so-called “free” time this summer. That doesn’t mean you have to completely eliminate your social life. It’s all about managing your time wisely and as a college student, time management expertise is extremely valuable.

A quick way to minimize wasted time is to think ahead when you are getting dressed for the day. For example, if you are getting ready for an afternoon class, but know that you made plans to grab a drink with friends afterward, why not try to save the time of going home to redress? Try dressing in something that works for both occasions.

This Fashionista was seen roaming around campus wearing this chic ensemble. The plain black crop top and white shorts make a great pair if seeking a casual, summer look, but this Fashionista took her look a step further. To accessorize, she put on some statement jewelry and sunglasses. In addition to her accessories, the red lipstick adds a nice pop of color, which also matches her nail polish. This Fashionista’s look is appropriate for her daytime activities, but she can also rock this look when the sun goes down. She’s killing two birds with one stone. Try taking full advantage of your free time this summer by experimenting with the day-to-night strategy.

One Simple Change: Are you ready for a middle school flashback? Your favorite boy band is coming to town and you better believe you bought front row tickets. Are you in a hurry to get to the show? Trade out the shorts for a patterned skater skirt. It will add a fun touch to the outfit and you will be ready to jam out all night long.
