WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

Good morning Fashionistas/os! The days are getting longer and the nights are just as long, which can only mean that summer has finally arrived. College students across the country are taking advantage of the break from school to gain real world experience. Whether you are studying abroad, interning, taking summer class or working this summer, your schedule is booked to the limit. Take advantage of this challenge and build a wardrobe that will allow you to transition from the office cubicle to dinner with friends.

If you are like me, you wish there were more hours in the day and possibly more days in the week. Between an internship, summer classes and a part-time job, 24 hours just doesn’t seem like enough time. This Fashionista understands how crucial it is to perfect the day to night transition and how it will factor into her success this summer.

She has put together a chic and sophisticated outfit that can be worn for running errands at the office to supervising an event at night. She layered her bell sleeve floral blouse with her favorite sand color cardigan. Layering pieces is an excellent skill that will make any transition from day to night much easier. Her skinny leg, black dress pants are a staple piece to her office attire. For shoes she wore camel color flats that match perfectly with her cardigan. Her golden cuff bracelet gave a sophisticated element to the look. This Fashionista transitioned her look from day to night by losing the cardigan and adding a studded bag into the mix for a more edgy style. By embracing her day to night wardrobe, this Fashionista is prepared for those 7:00 a.m. coffee pickups and late nights at networking dinners.

One Simple Change: To transition this sophisticated business casual ensemble to a one that’s perfect for a night on the town, switch the flats for a pair of micro-studded high heel sandals. Embrace the influences of the night and accessorize your look with a small clutch instead of the oversized bag. Layering a few longer necklaces will give it the final touch to your nighttime attire.
