WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

At San Diego State, there is no such thing as a day off. Whether you’re running to your next lecture, checking out the latest protest on campus or catching your last meeting of the day, it is no surprise that fashion can be the last thing on your mind. When days are as busy as this, it’s important to pick an outfit that works just as well for your lab in the morning as it does for dinner with the girls at night.

I stumbled across this Fashionista near the steps of Hepner Hall. While I lost a battle between sleep and a cute outfit this morning, which resulted in workout clothes (again), this Fashionista won hers. She decided that with a busy schedule like hers, she would sport the perfect day to night look. I love how this Fashionista chose to work with a simple, neutral palette. Black denim is a perfect transitional piece. When chatting with her, she told me that she ripped her jeans herself. What a creative DIY! She paired her skinny jeans with a cream long sleeve and some brown booties. Since most of her look was rather minimalistic, she spruced it up with a statement necklace. Also, instead of going for the classic watch, she chose one with a world map face. Unique, right?

Take notes from this Fashionista when dressing for a day filled with classes and meetings. Simplicity can go a long way, and do you really want to change in your car, again?

One Simple Change: Is tonight the day you finally meet that Tinder match you’ve been flirting with? Swapping the booties with a pair of heels and the sweater for a silk top is the perfect look to impress your new beau.
