WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

To be honest, winter here in the Midwest is brutal, especially on a college campus. Walking to class with the wind biting and the ice two inches thick is no easy task. The frigid temperatures make you want to curl up in a sweatshirt and some sweatpants and never leave your bed. However, there are some Fashionistas here who brave the glacial weather in their best style no matter what.

As I was trekking through the tundra on my way to class I was taken aback by the amount of beautiful coats, stylish boots and chic scarves. One Fashionista in particular really caught my eye. She was wearing a dark gray vest with a V-neck sweater underneath. To combat the snow and ice, she donned a perfect pair of lace-up boots and added some gorgeous rings as an accessory.

This look is perfect for the icy weather especially when you are commuting everywhere by foot. The vest will ensure you stay warm and adds dimension to the simple sweater. By adding some comfortable snow boots and some cute accessories like jewelry or a scarf, you will outsmart the cold while still maintaining your personal style.

Winter is a long and dreary season, but that doesn’t mean your clothes have to be! It is possible to be casual, warm and fashionable all at the same time.

One Simple Change: To take this look to the next level, swap the snow boots for a pair of wedged booties. This will create a classier look and you will be ready for a fun night out with friends!
