WHAT TO WEAR: Class

As much as I hate to admit it, I wake up every day and plan my outfit around someone else. That someone is Mother Nature, and recently, she has me pulling out all of my stops. Humidity has been her favorite weapon as of late and leaves me feeling like I’m melting about 90 percent of the time. This heat, combined with the feeling that the clouds are about to open up, prove to be one of the toughest types of weather to dress for.

Summer classes are not for the weak, which is why I think this Fashionista dressed perfectly for the occasion: casual, comfortable and cute. I’m having a love affair with rompers right now and find them appropriate for literally every occasion. Long sleeve, deep V-neck rompers for a night out, tank top rompers for the day and sleeveless rompers for lounging around the house—the opportunities are endless. I couldn’t think of a more perfect class outfit than this! One of the more complicated parts of summer classes, however, also happens to be my favorite: air conditioning. The difference between the temperature inside and outside the classroom calls for the perfect amount of layering. A draped sweater looks sophisticated with a romper and is still appropriate for the classroom. For a romper like this Fashionista’s, I’d recommend something in a cream or beige hue to pull out the lighter color of her outfit’s print. Polishing the entire outfit off, her bag is the perfect size to fit a notebook but small enough that it’s not bulky and overwhelming on her petite frame.
If you’ve read one or more of my posts, you know I’m a sucker for accessories. I’d never seen this style Ray-Ban before and am now a huge fan! I’m also a firm believer that jewelry can make or break an outfit, which this Fashionista proves. Her relaxed bracelets and simple necklace give of a laid back California vibe that I’m loving.
One Simple Change: Heading out with friends after class? This look can transition easily from day to night with a few simple changes. Ditch the sweater and grab a jean or leather jacket. Slip on some lace-up heels and dressy jewelry, and you’ll be set for wherever the night takes you!
