WHAT TO WEAR: Class

After the freezing cold winter we had, I was more than thrilled to banish my thick parka from my wardrobe. The spring air has welcomed students everywhere to lighten up their outfits and begin to break out the warm weather staples. However, even if the forecast says the high for the day is going to be 60 or 70 degrees, chances are that when you walk out the door for your 8:00 a.m. class, it is still going to be on the chilly side. To combat these varied spring temperatures on your walk to class, you’ll need to create an expertly layered look.

This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect for those walks to your classes throughout the day. She begins her look by opting for a pair of denim in the lightest pink shade, which is the perfect choice to emulate spring. To maintain warmth when she walked out the door early in the morning, she constructed a look consisting of three layers. She began with a simple gray, cropped top and layered on a tan cardigan. On top of that she added a green utility jacket. The jacket, or even the cardigan too, could be removed later on in the day if her lecture hall is warm or if the temperature rises when she takes her lunch break out on the quad.

Her outfit is completed with accessories that are appropriate for the class occasion. This Fashionista sports jewelry that is simple and chic. A pair of go-to booties fit with the neutral color scheme of the outfit, yet aren’t too high that her feet will become sore trekking from building to building. Her tote bag is the perfect size to toss her laptop, water bottle, planner, pens and all of her remaining supplies that are necessary for her classes. She even adds a bit of personality with a fun manicure—something that can finally be seen because winter’s mittens and gloves are no longer needed.

If you’re unsure of what to wear for your long day of classes, take a cue from this Fashionista. Her light colors and layers are key to the perfect springtime look.

One Simple Change: This look can easily become one that’s perfect for your date night with your boyfriend. After class, simply swap the pants for a white pencil skirt. The light color screams spring! If you’re looking for a subtly sexy look, opt for a skirt with slit.
