WHAT TO WEAR: Class

With Iowa winters come freezing temperatures and large amounts of snow. It is almost impossible to motivate yourself to go to class, much less to throw anything on besides sweatpants. This Fashionisto proves that even with a heavy class load and freezing weather, dressing fashionably is not impossible.

In these below freezing temperatures few of us have any desire to put much thought into our outfits outside from, “How many sweaters can I pile on before I lose all ability to move?” However, layering doesn’t have to mean looking bulky and not put together. Fortunately for us Iowans, layering as a trend has come to the forefront of winter fashion allowing us to look good while keeping warm. This Fashionisto has done just that, by layering a puffer vest over his sweater over top a plain white long sleeve T-shirt. He paired this nicely with jeans and some comfortable but stylish sneakers.

This look takes minimal effort and time but makes a world of difference. Looking good lets you feel good and, in turn, helps brighten your day. With the tribulations of school and the bleak, chilling weather present in an Iowa Stater’s life five months of the year, any opportunity to lift our spirits up is one worthwhile. While this Fashionisto drudges through icy sludge to his 8:00 a.m.’s each morning, he at least does so confident, happier and especially warmer!

One Simple Change: If you happen to have a date after a long and cold Friday, this ensemble easily transforms into a great outfit to impress that special someone. Trade out those comfy, sporty shoes for a slick pair of dress shoes or loafers, and switch out the puffer vest for a stylish jacket.
