WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

While I was wolfing down my eggs benedict and slurping on my berry smoothie at a cozy little restaurant called The Brunch Club, this Fashionista walked in and caught my eye. Needless to say, I had to approach her and get some photos to share with you all.

My favorite part about this Fashionista’s laid back outfit is definitely her wide-legged pants. The lightweight fabric and the design of these pants give you plenty of ventilation, helping you stay cool on a hot and sticky summer day. These pants flare out slightly towards the bottom and cuts off just below your calves, leaving enough room for your ankles to show. The length of these pants are important because it keeps your figure and your actual height from being swallowed by these pants. A huge bonus about wearing these pants is that the flowy fabric and silhouette is much more forgiving than your tight denim shorts when you have a temporary food baby after brunch. So before you throw on your summery short shorts next time, consider rocking some wide-legged pants instead.

Whenever you are wearing something loose fitting, you always want to pair it with something with a more snug fit or a belt around your waist so that your figure peeks through. The Fashionista pictured here handles this exquisitely by wearing a tight cropped top with a halter neckline in a beautiful periwinkle shade. To go along with the elegant halter neckline, put on some small golden hoop earrings like this Fashionista did to give your chill brunch outfit a more polished touch.

This Fashionista was also carrying a blue cross-body bag with flowers embroidered on it. Something about the yellow sunflowers and worn out fabric of the bag screams summer to me. I could imagine this bag being sold in a million different colors and patterns at a stall in a vacation destination. I think wearing little accessories and pieces that can tell a story adds a lot more character to your look than simply following the latest fashion trends.

One Simple Change: Swap these white slip-ons for a pair of pointed high heels to convert this into a sleek and stylish look for a night out with your best friends.
