WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

Brunch serves a plethora of food: bacon, omelets, pancakes, waffles, bagels, French toast, sandwiches etc. The list of food is endless and guests tend to leave full and happy. That is why it is my absolute favorite event. Personally, I’d much rather meet up with friends for brunch than for dinner. Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation says it perfectly, “There has never been a sadness that can’t be cured by breakfast food.” And boy, is Ron right. I mean, have you ever had waffles covered in strawberries and whip cream?

Since brunch has so many yummy foods often accompanied by friends or family, it is important to dress up for the occasion. In the summer, the weather is much warmer. That means its’ time to rock the colorful shorts or the fun summer dresses that have been calling your name all winter. Make sure to wear either of these outfits with a cute pair of sandals that match your ensemble. For brunch, wedge heals or flat sandals will do the trick. They are just dressy enough without overdoing it for daytime.

This Fashionista wore a coral colored skater dress with a sweetheart neckline covered in a lace fabric. She wore big dangly gold earrings, a tan satchel purse and tan suede sandals covered in rhinestones. Her toenails were painted a pretty blue color that was perfect for the summer time. The color of her dress brightens up everyone’s day and fits comfortably no matter how much food she eats for brunch.

One Simple Change: Meeting your boyfriend for a date later that night? Swap out those wedges or sandals for a pair of nude high heals. That will dress the outfit up even more. If you’re wearing a neutral colored dress make sure to wear a pair of heels that really pop.
