WHAT TO WEAR: Black is Better

December 15th, 2016 at 2:00am

As the holiday season begins to approach and the fall semester is starting to come to a close, you may be starting to run out of colorful outfits that pop. No need to worry though because this holiday season, black is better.

This Fashionista was spotted looking super trendy and sophisticated in her all-black look this past evening on her way to grab dinner. For starters, I am completely in love with this Fashionista’s suede dress. The choker neckline along with the deep V-neck cut allows the dress to act as fun and flirty, while remaining a classy and sophisticated closet staple. I also appreciated how she was able to add a twist of her personality into this look by layering a gray faux-fur vest on top of her suede. The fabrics and colors both complement each other while adding an extra layer of warmth on chilly days during this fall season. My go-to stores to shop for both dresses and vest like the ones this Fashionista is wearing are reddressboutique.com and lulus.com.

A popular trend that has also been set for these fall and winter months are the knee-high/over-the-knee suede boots. I have been seeing girls strut across campus in these boots in all different colors from black to burgundy. These boots this Fashionista is sporting can be found at DSW! There are a ton of different pairs to choose from all over the Internet, but what’s great about that is that you can add your own pinch of personality by choosing a pair with lace up backs, side cut-outs or even fringe!

Finally, this Fashionista brought her entire look together by adding some personal jewelry staples from her wardrobe. When you use bolder pieces to create your outfit, there’s no need to over-accessorize. In fact, the statement “less is more” is often true in the game of fashion. This Fashionista chose to accessorize with a dainty Tiffany & Co. charm bracelet, along with her staple Michael Kors watch.
