WHAT TO WEAR: Back to School

It is that time of year again Fashionista/os; so slip on your favorite outfit, put on your most comfortable shoes and fill your clutch bag with pens, highlighters and planners because it is the first day of classes, and I recommend that you leave your mark and dress for success. Your back of school outfit is critical; it is the first day that you get to represent yourself and show your professor you are ready to get down to business, so you must reflect that. I know every Fashionista/o is thinking, “What should I wear?” The key is to look appropriate for school and wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable so that you can focus on learning. Each year, I look forward to seeing the different fashion styles that my peers bring to my classes, so be the fashion superstar this semester and show off your personal style and the way you want.

This Fashionista paraded to her first day of classes in a perfect outfit. The best part about college classes starting in August is that we can wear white before Labor Day arrives. All Fashionista/os are aware of this fashion rule. Wearing white after Labor Day would send you straight to the fashion police, and our beloved Joan Rivers would have been all over us! This Fashionista took the opportunity to wear white for the very last time this year, by strutting her online exclusive pure whitewashed jeans from Abercrombie & Fitch. She them paired it with her floral black and white top. She accessorized this outfit with her little black flats from Steve Madden, statement earrings from Happy Go Lucky boutique located in Columbus, Ohio and her Cindy extra-small Saffiano leather cross-body bag from Michael Kors. This Fashionista’s entered her first day of classes looking like a fashion icon, and you can too!

One Simple Change: Just finished your first week of classes and already looking to go out and about with friends to local restaurants on Court Street or to Columbus for the night? Try changing up your top. This will make your outfit look more elaborate and nightlife appropriate. Check out my favorite online shopping website NASTY GAL, this Yvette Lace Crop Top would look fantastic with the whitewashed jeans.
