WHAT TO WEAR: Sunny District Days

May 23rd, 2017 at 2:00am

Finals may be coming full force at us, but that doesn’t mean we need to stay locked up in the library all day! One of my favorite ways to relieve stress is to get off campus and do work in café spaces. The calming music, caffeine rush, and inviting atmosphere makes for the perfect place to get my creative juices flowing. Since I go to school in Washington, D.C., my city’s coffee shops are a perfect intertwining of culture, art, and food.

I love exploring the city I go to school in—that’s the best part about going to college in the city! Even though I’ve lived here for the past eight months, there are always new neighborhoods to discover and local shops to visit. I spotted this Fashionista on my way to a coffee shop.

It was 90 degrees and muggy in the district, and this Fashionista didn’t compromise fashion for the blaring heat. For this outfit, she dressed up this essential white cropped tube top. This shirt is perfect for the upcoming summer season and can be easily paired with a cute pair of high-waisted distressed shorts or any cute pair of summer woven shorts.

However, this Fashionista paired this top with these white pinstripe pants. These drawstring pants were light and comfortable for the city heat and were a perfect pair to her cropped tube top. She pulled this casual look together with this beige lightweight cardigan—an essential for the cooler air-conditioned buildings.

This Fashionista accessorized with simple gold necklaces, some cutie sunglasses for the intense sun rays, and her sterling silver “champagne diamond” ring. She completed this look with a black tote bag and brown strappy sandals.

I hope all you Fashionista’s have a fun and stress-free end of the semester! Finish up strong and have a RAD summer!
