SYTLE GURU BIO: Kelsey Mader

I am so excited to be returning to the wonderful CollegeFashionista team for the fall. This is my second semester, and I am looking forward to creating content. I am a senior graphic design major at Mercyhurst University, with a minor in fashion merchandising. I am both excited and terrified to be graduating in the spring semester, but am looking forward to the adventures it will surely hold.

My style would be considered classic, with artsy touches throughout. I love unique details, such as bold necklaces, gorgeous scarves or the perfect bootie. Just to give an outfit something special. It is funny that I am wearing stripes for these photographs, for the longest time I was afraid of them. As a plus size girl, I’ve read about avoiding stripes in magazines and online, so therefore I followed and avoided them. But as I have developed my closet and my personal style, I have come to find out that stripes are classy. They don’t go out of style. They may vary in color, width or direction, but ultimately they are classic. So I decided I have had enough of “what not to wear” as a plus size woman and made it into a “what can I wear next”?

To create a similar look here are some great options: Striped T-shirt, comfortable jeans, snazzy sneakers and a ring for a touch more.
