Summer Products That Are Useful During Every Season

Ah, summer. One of the best times of year for vacationing, living easy, and being worry-free. It is also a time when most popular beauty products are marketed as seasonal exclusives; however, some of those products are useful year-round. They’re so useful that they often make improvements in skin and makeup that are forgotten passed summertime. So, while those products are readily available, it’s important to invest in them now. But, to keep summer worry-free, here’s a short list of the most important summer products to buy for the next 12 months.

1—Sunscreen. Maybe you’re about to hit the beach and you swing by your favorite store for some SPF. Go ahead and buy two bottles. Even when it’s just partly cloudy, UV rays can still damage skin. Applying sunscreen to more sensitive skin (i.e. face, neck, hands, elbows, knees, and feet) can save you from early aging and sun damage.

2—Aloe. As an anti-inflammatory, aloe reduces redness, swelling, and irritation of the skin. That means it can save you from sunburns as well as an acne outbreak. Aloe is the super product that is often overlooked. It can be used as many things, including as a face mask, an addition to your moisturizer, a conditioner, and a healthy drink mix.

3—Leave-in conditioner. Your hair is just like your skin. When you’re being active, enjoying the water, or just sweating, your hair needs additional moisture and hydration. But, with climate change, travel, and other odd—usually weather-related—factors, you can never be too careful. Leave-in conditioner is always essential; it will help keep your hair damage free and ensure you always have a good hair day.

4—Anything waterproof. Waterproof makeup is marketed heavily during the summer because of outdoor excursions involving the beach and pool, but it’s important to save some for the rest of the year. Waterproof products can preserve your look when it’s raining, when you’re crying, and when you’re sweating, and they actually work.

5—Bronzer. Please don’t pay outrageous tanning salon prices in the dead of winter just for a little summer glow. It’s 2017; bronzer can add color to your skin without draining your bank account. And, there are bronzing products for your entire body. One caveat: think about your coloring and choose a bronzer that won’t look unnatural when your tan fades.

Before summer’s over, make sure to pick up extra of any products you find yourself needing throughout the year. It’s much easier to find them on shelves now rather than scavenging for them on Amazon later. What’s your favorite summer product to use year-round? Let us know in a comment below!
