STYLE GURU STYLE: Urban Fashionista

In Kenzo’s pre-fall 2015 collection, The pieces in the collection were put together effortlessly and gave you the classic Kenzo feel; darkness with pops of color that are inspired from street style. Aside from my love of haute couture, whenever I see a runway with street fashion, I have to recreate it in some way. Especially if dramatic color and oversized pieces are involved.

When I get dolled up, it’s either a mix between funky chic or professional sophisticated. This time, I channeled my inner Kenzo and donned bright colors with a dash of cohesiveness. The word love was stamped on many items that made its appearance throughout the show and my skirt was definitely inspired by that. The graffiti and urban look translated perfectly with the bright shoes that were used to add on that extra incentive to captivate you. Oversized jackets were a trend in the show and I took that with me as well. Black and white with jackets and color is what ruled the show and ruled my stylish outfit for the day!

I was inspired to allow a different side of me to come out; a side that has purpose and makes a bold statement without saying anything at all. I usually go with the flow, but now it is time to dress with a purpose! I once wore graphic tees, but it’s time to put those same words on hoodies, skirts, shoes and maybe even buttons. Every time you wear something, make it count.

Get My Look: 1. Oversized denim jacket. 2. Colorful pumps. 3. Statement skirt.
